New Jewish community event West Hartford, CT (Nov. 6, 2009) – What do you call a night of Jewish comedy at Xmas time? And what if it’s at a Chinese Restaurant? The answer: Moo Jew Comedy. “What can I tell you, I’m a traditionalist,” said Jason P. Lorber, Moo Jew Comedy producer and comedian. “Jews have congregated for centuries at Chinese restaurants at Christmas time. Why make them schlep to a comedy show, when we can bring the comedy right to them, in their natural habitat?” Lorber named the event Moo Jew Comedy, after deciding against other names, including “Oy of the Beholder,” “Not So Silent Night,” and “So, Jew Want Some Chinese?” The comedy / dinner show features all-star comedians:
Tickets are $49 for a 4-course dinner (vegetarian options available), and “all the comedy you can eat.” Price includes tax and tip, which Lorber’s mother calls “such a deal.” Moo Jew Comedy takes place at the Szechuan Tokyo in West Hartford, CT. Non-Jews are welcome, but Lorber warns, “They may witness Jews laughing, talking, and complaining with their mouths full of egg rolls. Not a pretty sight.” Discerning Jews and gentiles have four nights to choose from, namely Dec. 24-27. Dinner starts “promptly at 7:30pm-ish,” and Lorber urges folks to be “moderately on-time-ish.” The comedy show starts just about the time that dessert is served. Moo Jew tickets and information available at http://www.moojew.com/CT.html or 802-863-5966.
